Orphanage producers prepping 3D Spanish thriller Paranormal Xperience (AKA Scars)

Spanish filmmaker Sergi Vizcaino is in pre-production on PARANORMAL XPERIENCE 3D. Normally such a bad name would worry me, but Rodar y Rodar (THE ORPHANAGE) are producing it, so hopefully it won’t be too unoriginal. Another working title is SCARS, but it’s unclear on which the picture will settle.

The film is about a group of children, each with their own interesting circumstances, who are preyed upon by a mad doctor in an abandoned town. Based on the name, I’m willing to bet that there’s a ghost in there somewhere too.

The psychological horror/thriller is written by Dani Padro with Sergi Vizcaino scheduled to direct. The cast is predominantly made up of young actors making the transition from television to film: Amaia Salamanca, Ursula Corbero, Alba Riba, Oscar Sinela, Luis Fernandez and Maxi Iglesias.

Shooting will commence in May in Barcelona. Sony will be co-producing and co-financing the picture.
