Orphanage team-up

Variety announced this morning that director Juan Antonio Bayona and screenwriter Sergio Sanchez, the team who brought us the spectacularly creepy THE ORPHANAGE are back at it again, this time working on developing a new film for Apaches Entertainment, Telecinco Cinema, and Spongeman (distribution label).

The big question is, what is the film and what’s it about? No title is known yet, and all we know of the story is this: a powerful story, based on true facts, which poses large technical challenge. In other words, we don’t know shit about this movie and they’re not revealing anything any time soon.

The film is looking to start shooting in the spring (2010), so hopefully more light will be shed as to what the flick is about–especially after Cannes, where the two are trying to score more financial backing.

Considering how awesome THE ORPHANAGE was, I can only guess that this film will be along the same lines of creepiness and visual delightfulness. But since mum’s the word, we won’t really know until more is released… so stick around for more insight to the film as we hear it!

THE ORPHANAGE’s Belén Rueda!
