Oscar winner Casey Affleck inhales new thriller Every Breath You Take

This news certainly does not sting.

Academy Award winner Casey Affleck (MANCHESTER BY THE SEA) has found his next project and it doesn't appear to involve Boston accents, shooting a famous outlaw, or hiding under a sheet. The OUT OF THE FURNACE star will next appear in the upcoming movie EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE. You may be surprised to learn that said film is not in fact an examination of The Police's stalker lyrics but rather a psychological thriller. The film will showcase Affleck as a psychiatrist "whose career is thrown into jeopardy when his patient takes her own life. When he invites his patient’s surviving brother into his home to meet his wife and daughter, his family life is suddenly torn apart."  Actor Sam Clafin will take on the role of the grieving brother and Affleck will reteam with his GONE BABY GONE co-star Michelle Monaghan who will portray his wife. EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE will also mark the first feature for director Christine Jeffs since 2008's SUNSHINE CLEANING.

While I've never been particularly enamored with Affleck's acting style he certainly picks interesting project. THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD is one of the finest Westerns of this century while GONE BABY GONE remains one of the most intense films I've ever seen. Most recently Casey Affleck co-starred with Jason Seigel in THE FRIEND. Joblo's own Chris Bumbray quite enjoyed the film which debuted at TIFF in September. Affleck also just wrapped the upcoming drama THE WORLD TO COME from director Mona Fastvold.

EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE kicks off production later this month.
