Osgood Perkins To Direct supernatural thriller Incident At Fort Bragg

I AM THE PRETTY THING THAT LIVES IN THE HOUSE and THE BLACKCOAT'S DAUGHTER writer-director Osgood Perkins has been chosen by Lionsgate to take the helm of their upcoming supernatural thriller INCIDENT AT FORT BRAGG. The film was sold to the studio by screenwriting duo Evan Turner and Harrison Query, but the most current draft was penned by MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN and PET SEMATARY scribe Jeff Buhler.

Inspired by the true story, the film centers on:

the renowned writer and Irish Catholic priest Malachi Martin, who was brought in by the U.S. government to perform a sanctioned exorcism on a young soldier at the famed Army base.

Beau Flynn (THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE, THE RITE) is producing via his FlynnPictureCo along with Scott Glassgold of Ground Control Entertainment. FlynnPictureCo’s Scott Sheldon is executive producing. Meredith Wieck and Aaron Edmonds are overseeing for Lionsgate.

Perkins' next film is GRETEL & HANSEL starring Sophia Lillis. The dark reimagining of the classic fairytale we know and love begins:

A long time ago in a distant fairytale countryside, a young girl (Sophia Lillis, It) leads her little brother (Sammy Leakey) into a dark wood in desperate search of food and work, only to stumble upon a nexus of terrifying evil.

The film also stars Sammy Leakey, Alice Krige (THE OA, STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT), Jessica De Gouw (UNDERGROUND, ARROW) and Charles Babalola (BLACK MIRROR, THE LEGEND OF TARZAN). Osgood Perkins directs the film from a screenplay written by Rob Hayes (CHEWING GUM). Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (SINISTER, UPGRADE) produces along with Fred Berger (LA LA LAND, DESTROYER) on behalf of Automatik. Sandra Yee Ling and Macdara Kelleher serve as the movie's executive producers. GRETEL & HANSEL hits on January 31, 2020
