A week ago we taunted y’all with thoughts of TAKEN director Pierre Morel helming the long-gestating OUIJA for Platinum Dunes. Today, it seems another two names have been thrown into the ring…
Deadline states Scott Stewart (PRIEST, LEGION) and Sylvain White (THE LOSERS, I’LL ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER) are being considered to bring the second Hasbro board-game to life (after Pete Berg’s BATTLESHIP). Word is, like Berg’s flick, OUIJA will be a tent-pole outing made for roughly $80-100 million. That’s a lotta scratch!
From TRON LEGACY scribes Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis:
OUIJA is being described as an action-adventure movie that takes certain rules of the game — never use it alone, never use it in a graveyard, always say good-bye — and figures them into the plot.
Because these three respective directors are being sought after for other projects, Platinum Dunes and Hasbro will likely choose a director for OUIJA in the next two weeks or so.
Aiight, speak up y’all…of the three (Morel included), who would you wanna see direct OUIJA? Does it even matter with a budget of $80-100 million…or does that kind of green spent for a board-game movie make you wanna f*ckin vomit?
