What else is there to say about Oren Peli’s PARANORMAL ACTIVITY? The movie is just getting bigger and bigger! First that shite makes a killing in the box office on barely any screens… then it hits 1,000,000 demands and secures itself a wide theatrical release! Nice!
We know all this already. What we didn’t know was exactly when Paramount were planning on officially unleashing PARANORMAL ACTIVITY on the country. Well thanks to The Hollywood Reporter we’ve got some dates to look forward to! This Friday ACTIVITY will reach around 800 screens with that amount being bumped up to 2,000 the next Friday, October 23rd! That’s right folks, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY’s full theatrical release will put it head to head with SAW VI. Oh things just got interesting.
The $11,000 film has already pulled in over $9 million, so you think it’s a viable opponent for the SAW juggernaut? I know people are torn on SAW VI, including myself, but I’d love to see a little flick like PARANORMAL ACTIVITY defeat a franchise like SAW… that would just throw the whole genre community for a loop!
