Pacific Rim anime series gets March release date at Netflix

After two larger-than-life movies, Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim franchise is coming back for its own animated series at Netflix titled Pacific Rim: The Black. Now set to be deployed onto Netflix on March 4, the anime-style series follows two siblings forced to pilot an abandoned Jaeger mech as they search for their missing parents.

Netflix revealed the release date for Pacific Rim: The Black on Monday when they shared the first teaser trailer for the upcoming series. In the trailer, we're introduced to the familial duo as they're preparing for battle amidst a ravaged Australian city. Little else is know about the series at this time, though considering the show comes out in March, we won't have to wait long for details.

Marvel comics writer Craig Kyle and Marvel animation writer Greg Johnson act as showrunners for Pacific Rim: The Black, with Polygon Pictures doing the animation.

With both Godzilla vs. Kong and Pacific Rim: The Black hitting theaters and streaming services in March, this year is certainly looking bright for Kaiju fans. Grab yourself a co-pilot, get in-sync, and prepare to throw down with some of Hollywood's biggest monsters in just a few weeks' time.
