Like we didn’t see this coming.
With the huge success of TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON it should come as no surprise to anyone that Hasbro wants to keep this money train a’rolling. So much so that they’re actually talking to Paramount and key players Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg about shooting TRANSFORMERS 4 and 5 back-to-back!
Apparently scribe Ehren Kruger already has ideas for a fourth and fifth film in the franchise. Ideas that Paramount seem to be pretty big on, having already started engaging with writers. It seems franchise star Shia LaBeouf won’t be back for this go-around though, having stated previously that he’s planning on moving on. One name that has been attached to the future of TRANSFORMERS is action star Jason Statham, though nothing remotely official has come up.
Along with executive producing Michael Bay is once again thinking about directing, hoping to get his competitive body-building passion project PAIN AND GAIN done before TRANSFORMERS starts production in late 2012-early 2013.
So what do you guys think? You want to see another two TRANSFORMERS flicks or is it time to put this one to sleep? If the thing is still making tons of money it’d be crazy not to keep going, right? Let’s just hope the back-to-back shoots don’t take away from the finished product.
We’ll be keeping our eyes and ears open for any other rumblings on this TRANSFORMERS jive so be sure to check back soon for anything that comes our way.
