Paramount hires Almanac scribes to pen Paranormal Activity 5

While there will be no new PARANORMAL ACTIVITY film haunting theaters this October, we've known for a while that we have not one, but two new PARANORMAL ACTIVITY films to look forward to in 2014, one of which is PARANORMAL ACTIVITY: THE MARKED ONES, formerly known as THE OXNARD TAPES, which is the Latino spin-off that we told you about back in July. Christopher Landon helmed the project with Richard Cabral, Carlos Pratts, and Eddie J. Fernandez all starring. Right now the film is expected to premiere on January 3rd, 2014. Now The Hollywood Reporter is sharing that the other film, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5, has finally found its writers and is moving forward for an October 24 2014 release.

Jason Pagan and Andrew Stark, who penned the Michael Bay–produced found footage sci-fi thriller ALMANAC, will write PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5, the latest installment of Paramount Pictures’ scary movie franchise which has so far scared up more than $718 million worldwide, THR reports.

No plot details have emerged but as the process for these movies go, Pagan and Deutschman will write scriptments that will serve as the basis for the found footage movie.
