Paramount to release micro-budget exorcism flick The Devil Inside in February

Paramount’s Insurge Pictures will release its first acquisition, THE DEVIL INSIDE, on February 24, 2012. The first-person exorcism flick was inspired by the success of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY to be made on a micro-budget by a studio. Here is the synopsis:

Her entire life, Isabella Torelli believed her mother brutally murdered three people because she was clinically insane. After being told the murders occurred during an exorcism, she sets out to discover the truth. While documenting her experience with a film crew in Italy, she becomes involved in a series of unauthorized exorcisms.

The film is directed by William Brent Bell, who re-teamed with his STAY ALIVE partner Matt Peterman to write the script. The cast consists of Bonnie Morgan (above), Fernanda Andrade, Simon Quarterman, Preston James Hillier, Evan Helmuth, Suzan Crowley, D.T. Carney and Ionut Grama.

Okay, so STAY ALIVE doesn’t exactly look good on a resume (“You die in the game, you die for real!”), but the plot sounds kind of cool – although any horror fan will be instantly reminded of THE LAST EXORCISM. What’s your take on this one?
