Paranormal release date

Remember that little indie flick PARANORMAL ACTIVITY? Probably not. Let me refresh your memory. Back in January of 2008, the film was picked up while on the Festival circuit, wowing the likes of Slamdance and a number of other venues. The flick went something like this a young couple that suspects their house is haunted by a malevolent entity. They set up video surveillance to capture evidence of what happens at night as they sleep. Their surveillance and home videos have been edited into this 99 minute feature film. Flash forward more than a year and a half later and here we are, still no PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, but there is hope! Word on the street is that Paramount Pictures is setting up to release the film in limited theaters on September 25th! Wow! Talk about out of nowhere!

Written/directed by Oren Peli, the film has been getting prepped and perfected over the last 20 months or so, which means this sucker better be in tip-top shape in a month from now when it lands that release date!

But are we in need of another home video movie? Remember what happened to THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES? Then again, CLOVERFIELD was awesome and successful, so who am I to question people’s love of handheld camera movies?
