Park Chan-wook’s iPhone movie becomes Night Fishing: Trailer & BTS!

You guys remember that project we told you about coming from Park Chan-wook called PARANMANJANG? Alright so the title is a mouthful but what if I told you it was that flick the talented filmmaker shot using just the iPhone. Now is it ringing (pun intended) any bells? Of course it is!

Well today not only do we have he news that PARANMANJANG is now known as NIGHT FISHING (good call!) but we’ve also got a look at a couple videos from the project! First up we’ve got a nifty little teaser trailer for the 30 minute short film and we’ve also got some behind the scenes footage that runs over five minutes!! So what’re you waiting for? The short is a fantastical tale that begins with a middle-aged man fishing one afternoon and then, hours later at night, catches the body of a woman. The panicked man tries to undo the intertwined fishing line, but he gets more and more entangled. He faints, then wakes up to find himself in the white clothes that the woman was wearing. The movie’s point of view then shifts to the woman and it becomes a tale of life and death from a traditional Korean point of view.

Working with his brother Park Chan-kyong and Korean iPhone provider KT Corp, Park Chan-wook directed the 30 minute short film, all of which was filmed using the iPhone. NIGHT FISHING is due to hit Korean theaters in some capacity starting January 27th.
