Paul Thomas Anderson’s new film with Daniel Day-Lewis lands a 2017 release

Both Paul Thomas Anderson and Daniel Day-Lewis have always seemed to be very selective with which projects they attach themselves to, and their latest will see the pair joining forces once again and reuniting for the first time since THERE WILL BE BLOOD. Focus Features have announced the release date for Paul Thomas Anderson's latest, which is still untitled, and it looks like we'll be able to see it by the end of the year.

Focus Features have slated the flick for a December 25, 2017 release. Get that Oscar polish ready. Not much is known about the film, other than it will be set in the "couture world of 1950's London" and will illuminate "the life behind the curtain of an uncompromising dressmaker commissioned by royalty and high society." Johnny Greenwood, who scored THERE WILL BE BLOOD, THE MASTER and INHERENT VICE for Anderson, will also be returning to compose the music.

The Paul Thomas Anderson/Daniel Day-Lewis reunion will be facing quite a lot of competition in December, with JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, DOWNSIZING, PITCH PERFECT 3, THE CURRENT WAR, THE GREATEST SHOWMAN and a little film by the same of STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI all playing in theaters by the time this film makes its debut.
