Pedro Pascal lands a key role in Wonder Woman sequel

Everything is always better with a little Pedro Pascal (KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE), and it seems that we'll be gifted with his presence in Patty Jenkins' upcoming WONDER WOMAN 2. According to Variety, Pascal has landed a "key role" in the sequel, but unfortunately, just who the actor will be playing is being kept under wraps. Ain't that always the case?

Gal Gadot will be returning to play Wonder Woman, obviously, but she'll also be joined by Kristen Wiig, who will be playing the role of Cheetah, an anthropologist who found herself cursed with the powers of a cheetah and became obsessed with learning the secrets of the Amazons. The first film was a thrilling adventure, but I'm hoping that the sequel will offer up improvements on all fronts. The sequel will also apparently be quite different from the first film, as Patty Jenkins has said that, "We’re actually making a totally different film with a lot of the same, similar like things that we love, but it’s its own movie completely, so it’s not ‘two’ to us. It’s an entirely new adventure together that we couldn’t be luckier [to do]." As Wonder Woman's history covers quite a lot of ground, crafting something "totally different" will hopefully be made a little easier when you can place the character in just about any moment of the past century.

Any ideas which role Pedro Pascal could be playing in WONDER WOMAN 2?

Even without the WONDER WOMAN sequel in his future, Pedro Pascal already has several large projects on the horizon, including starring alongside Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, and Garrett Hedlund in the long-gestating TRIPLE FRONTIER. The J.C. Chandor flick is in production right now, but Pascal will next be seen in THE EQUALIZER 2 on July 20, 2018 in which he'll play the antagonist to Denzel Washington's ass-kicking former special-ops agent.

WONDER WOMAN 2 is slated for a November 1, 2019 release.
