Pennywise is back! Check out the It remake’s sinister clown

Earlier this week, we got a look at the town of Derry in Andy Muschietti's remake of Stephen King's IT, but something much more important has floated up from the sewers: Pennywise himself. The villainous clown that haunts the town, Pennywise was originally played by Tim Curry, but will be portrayed by Bill Skarsgard this time around.

I was worried he might be a little too young to play the part properly, but Entertainment Weekly has released this first look at his new design, and his youth doesn't seem so alarming at all. Personally, I feel like the makeup is a little too precise, but it's a decently creepy look. Check it out for yourself below!

Seven children known as The Losers Club who come face to face with life problems, bullies and a monster that takes the shape of a clown called Pennywise.

The cast of kids in Pennywise's sights includes Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor. Their bullies will be played by Owen Teague and Nicholas Hamilton. Javier Botet will fill an as-yet unspecified role.

The plan is for the first movie to focus on Pennywise tormenting the characters listed above as children, with the second movie seeing them face off with "It" again as adults.

IT part one is set to be released into theatres on September 8, 2017, one year and two days after filming wraps.
