Did you guys happen to catch Alexandre Aja’s PIRANHA 3D this past Summer? If you went in with the right mindset then chances are you walked out of the theater with a big smirk on your face. That’s exactly what happened to this schmuch right here. So when news broke that the film’s sequel, PIRANHA 3DD, will have more boobs, more blood and more sex you can bet I was excited!
Now if you’re in the same boat as I am (pun intended), then you’ll be stoked to hear PIRANHA 3DD has an official release date! Gearing up to do battle with David R. Ellis’ SHARK NIGHT 3D, PIRANHA 3DD will be hitting theaters in September 2011. September 16, 2011 to be exact!
Alright so there’s nothing really special about this release date but at least we have a solid point to look forward to now. Gary Tunnicliffe will once again be working on the special effects for the film while John Gulager steps in to direct a script from Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan. No cast has been announced as of yet but now that this thing has a release date we should expect plenty more announcements soon!
