For those of you that take your sci-fi/horror with extra cheese, we may have a dish for you! This one’s called PLAGUERS and it’s coming to us from writer/director Brad Sykes whose resume is a literal smorgasbord of B-movie fun ranging from DEATH FACTORY to BLOODY TEASE to WITHIN THE WOODS. By the look of the flick’s poster above and pic below (click here for more), I believe we’re going to be getting some big-time creepy camp with PLAGUERS. Don’t believe me? Well, check out the plot:
When a band of sexy space pirates hijack a fuel-transport vessel bound for Earth, an alien virus known only as “Thanatos” is accidentally released. The contagion mutates its victims, transforming them one after another into ravenous, demonic creatures. Pirates and crew must join together to destroy the undead PLAGUERS as the ship nears Earth, threatening to infect the entire planet.
Sexy pirates? Space mutants? Threat to Earth? Although that all may sound like b-grades we’ve enjoyed before, there’s a very good chance your enjoyment can be duplicated as well. I’ve gotta admit that it sounds like gorgonzola-infused good times to me.
The space cast is comprised of Steve Railsback, Alexis Zibolis, Bobby James, Noelle Perris (below), Jared Cohn, Paige La Pierre, and Erica Browne. PLAGUERS is set to release some time in 2008. You check out its official website here for more info.
