I’ll be sure to tread lightly here – as lightly as I can tread – but this is to notify you that there’s now an Official Platinum Dunes site online, which is in conjunction with our bro’s over at Bloody Disgusting. More specifically, the site seems to be a blog for Brad Fuller, one of the company’s producers, and he’ll be frequently updating with news, responses to rumors, etc. Hopefully fielding questions from concerned movie-lovers as well…
Somewhat comically, there’s text stating: This is the official blog page for Brad Fuller. Platinum Dunes has produced The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Amityville Horror, The Hitcher, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and the forthcoming Unborn, Horsemen, Friday the 13th, The Birds and A Nightmare on Elm Street. Could’ve sworn some other companies originally produced those movies. Oh well, new day and age and all that…
It all seems pretty interesting – especially a weird blog entry called “I can now officially say that I believe in ghosts!” – in which he details some “ghost” sightings on the set of David Goyer’s THE UNBORN… I personally would have called it “I now believe we’re actually making something not already made by somebody else!” – but I’m a cynical bastard… FYI – Brad seems convinced that every set he’s ever been on has been cursed or haunted, so believe at your own peril…
My displeasure with this company is always evident – I’m a HUGE horror movie fan (duh) and have yet to see a single Platinum Dunes movie that was even satisfactory, let alone barely-watchable (horror movies should be scary, folks). That’s just one man’s opinion… But I won’t lie and say this new FRIDAY THE 13TH doesn’t interest me, as well as these Dunes’ “original” flicks, UNBORN and HORSEMEN… However, the rumored BIRDS remake? They can choke on it…
