If I had to pick a favourite president, I think I’d probably go with Roosevelt, but I can definitely get on board a Richard Nixon flick, especially since the cast is pretty damn good and seems to only be getting better. With Michael Sheen and Frank Langella in place to star in FROST/NIXON and Kevin Bacon in a supporting role, now it transpires that Oliver Platt will also join the proceedings. I have a kind of understated appreciation of Platt’s work, but what really won me over was when I saw THE ICE HARVEST last year. I really liked the flick and the best part in the movie by far was when Platt was sitting in the car being driven home and he suddenly realises that a young man may or may not have driven his testsicles up into his body cavity (because where else could they have gone?).
The film will be based around the post-Watergate television interviews between British talk-show host David Frost and former president Richard Nixon. Other than those already mentioned, the always funny Sam Rockwell rounds out the cast.
