Potter’s possible Saw

The best part about writing the following article? It gives me a perfect excuse to post a pic of the lovely Ms. Monica Potter up top. Okay, there’s also some pretty interesting news regarding her ties to the original SAW. Remember Ms. Potter’s role? She played Dr. Gordon’s (Cary Elwes) wife. If that jogs your memory than you may now also recall that she was one of the very few people to survive in the end. I know it’s been a long time, but haven’t you ever wondered why her character hasn’t been used in any of the following sequels? Well, today we have an answer! Take a look at what Monica revealed in a recent interview with Bloody-D when asked about possibly returning to the land of Jigsaw:

“They asked me to come back for I think the 3rd and “final”, they said it was the final one. But… part of the reason I didn’t come back is I just didn’t want to. It wasn’t a script thing or anything, it’s just I did the first one and that was plenty.”

What I find the most interesting about her response is the notion that SAW III was indeed supposed to be the final feather in John Kramer’s cap (which I feel it should have been). But anyways, it’s fun to ponder the possibilities that may have arisen had Dr. Gordon’s possibly vengeful spouse been around to give ol’ Jigsaw a piece of her mind. What’s even funnier, is Ms. Potter’s response after the reporter told her that a fifth sequel of SAW was already being made:

“No they’re not! Are you kidding? Well they’re not dumb, I can say that. They make money.”

If they’re not so dumb, then maybe then can try to lure Potter back for number six… but I highly doubt that.
