Last week, Big V had an article on the comic Preacher. The comic kicks ass, but like Vincent said, the film is just another case of development hell. Turns out it wasn’t a case of blowing smoke.
A schmoe by the name of Casey pointed this website our way, which is the homepage of makeup artist Vincent Guastini. The stuff he’d already done for the film looked amazing! Take the character Arseface, for instance. The character was a boy who survives a shot gun blast to the face after trying to commit suicide. He winds up being a deformed, mumbling mess with a drool problem. His quotes make more sense now, don’t they.
With regards to other concept art, the character of the Saint of all Killers would have been played by none other than the King of Cool himself, Samuel L. Jackson! With all this effort put into the film, it blows my mind that Warner Bros. would put the pause button on the bad boy. Then again, they did the same thing with GREMLINS 2.
