Predators wants Arnold

When it was announced that a PREDATOR reboot was in the work from Robert Rodriguez, I was a little upset. Furiously pissed off, really. But time has passed, and I’ve sort of gotten over it, but… not really.

Then MovieHole busts out some crazy news this morning that actually gives me hope! For one, the film is a sequel to PREDATOR, not a remake, or a restart of the series. It’s PREDATORS, as in they’re forgetting that PREDATOR 2 exists, and diving right back into the jungle. Cool! See, a new sequel I can dig!

The other big news is that the folks at Troublemaker Studios have apparently approached Schwarzenegger’s reps with a cameo role in PREDATORS, returning to reprise his take as Major Alan “Dutch” Schaefer! Dutch is back in the sequel!!! That is, of course, if he agrees. The cameo sounds like it’d be more than just a day’s filming, so difficult to tell if Arnold will have the time since I hear that Governor job keeps him busy.

But can you imagine how freakin’ cool that’d be? Dutch making an appearance in PREDATORS? Talk about a solid gold strategy for making a successful sequel to the already drawn-out franchise. This could really reboot it!
