Ah, shower scenes… is there any better treat to have in a horror film? Or any film for that matter? There’s just something about bare female skin glistening under the gentle spray of a raining showerhead. I guess it brings out the voyeuristic thrill-seeker deep within all of us. Better yet, multiple female shower scenes! You get all that I just described times two, three, or more!
The reason for my naughty ramblings up top is to segway into this article on the Aussie horror flick PREY which is becoming quite notorious for its supposed “extra explicit” shower scene featuring the lovely Natalie Bassingthwaighte (above) and Natalie Walker. Apparently the scene was so controversial that it was going to be cut from the film. However, we can all breathe a sigh of relief because the latest word is that the scene is indeed on the final cut of the flick (the overseas version at least). I’m not sure when we’ll see a U.S. release, but I bet it’ll be on DVD where “Unrated” rules the shelves. So everyone rejoice!
And for some more good news, we have a brand new trailer for PREY right below! It actually looks pretty bad ass, with some cool gore and action and a slight hint at what could lead to the girl-on-girl shower scene (see pic below)! Before checking the trailer out, familiarize yourself with the flick’s plot: Three couples on a 4-wheel-drive holiday wander into an Aboriginal sacred site and awaken a 5000 year old curse.
It was directed by George Miller and written by John Soto. In addition to Bassingthwaighte and Walker, PREY also stars Jesse Johnson, Ben Kermode, Christian Clark, Kristin Sargent, Nicholas Bell, Joe Hachem, and Jennifer Hanson.
