Pride and Predator

Just last week we gave you an update as to the bidding status for the bis screen adaptation of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES (check that out HERE). Little did we know that the Jane Austin horror hybrid is just one of many roaming around Hollywood these days. What? What’s this you say? More costume dramas with a twist? You bet your sweet ass there are!

According to Variety, Will Clark (no, not the baseball player) is set to direct PRIDE AND PREDATOR, which goes a little something like this: [the film] veers from the traditional period costume drama when an alien crash lands and begins to butcher the mannered protagonists, who suddenly have more than marriage and inheritance to worry about.

Hell yeah. Finally, a romantic period piece that you’ll have to drag your special lady friend to see, and not the other way around! I’m not sure what the big fascination with throwing horrorific elements into these silly period pieces, but I’m not complaining. Sounds like a barrell of fun times to me!

Co-written by Clark, Andrew Kemble, and John Pape, filming is set to begin later this year on location in London. Oh, and if you’re thinking this is the direction of the PREDATOR franchise, you’re wrong. The similarities stop with the name, so just put those rumors to rest right now. But it’s a pretty funny (fan made) poster, isn’t it?
