Earlier this month we introduced y’all to Randall Cole’s Hitchcokian techno-thriller 388 ARLETTA AVENUE, which, in a purported cross between PARANORMAL ACTIVITY and REAR WINDOW, we knew only had Nick Stahl attached to it at the time.
Well, now that principal photography has begun in Toronto, we know a little more about the film. Namely, that Mia Kirshner (below) and Devon Sawa…yes, Devon mothaf*ckin’ Sawa (right)…are taking part in the film as well. Fancy that shite!
Of the film, which is slated to release sometime next year, Executive Producer Vincenzo Natali had this to say:
“388 Arletta Avenue is a wickedly smart mystery-thriller. And it’s a story that could not have existed until recently, thanks to the astonishing and invasive technology that is now widely available. The fact that it is possible makes it truly terrifying.”
Director Randall Cole reiterates the sentiment:
“388 Arletta Avenue plays with the notion that if you could scratch to beneath the surface of what most supposedly ordinary people present to the world, and even to themselves, you would find very interesting and possibly very dark things. If exploited, some of those things could even result in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse, as it does for our lead character.”
Sounds pretty cool, ay? Of course, it’s their job to make it sound cool at this point…no objectivity given there. Guess we’ll have to wait and see some stills and/or footage to better judge. However, Mia Kirshner alone is a mighty big draw…for me anyway!
