The next classic 80s slasher remake to hit theaters will be PROM NIGHT, redone and cut down for the ultimate PG-13 experience. Yes, star Brittany Snow is hot… but that can’t save the fact that this will likely suck balls… or can it?
Case in point is the new poster, as seen over at STYD. It features a faceless scream, a crooked tiara, and even a tagline that’s mildly catchy. To put it bluntly… I’m impressed!
Not that a poster has anything to do with a movie, but a good poster is usually a good omen, right? No, actually, what the flock am I talking about… as the old saying goes, you can’t judge a book by it’s cover – the principle applies here as well.
Last year’s poster for BLACK X-MAS was pretty awesome, featuring a faceless scream wrapped in a deadly string of Christmas tree lights. It was dope…. but the movie… the movie sucked balls.
What does all this mean? Nothing. Just that the poster for PROM NIGHT isn’t half bad, and I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if the movie can live up to the poster, or if it’ll fall short due to it being a PG-13 remake of an R rated movie.
