Yesterday Ridley Scott confirmed a bit more of the mysterious connections that bridge his new film, PROMETHEUS to his classic sci-fi/horror ALIEN. Guy Pearce’s character was revealed to be Peter Weyland, of Weyland-Yutani. Often referred to in the ALIEN series as “The Company.”
Today, 20th Century Fox unleashed what is sure to be the first part of the film’s viral campaign. In what is meant to be a more stylized version of a TED conference (Technology, Entertainment, Design), Pearce takes the stage with an ominous speech that tells of the story of where technology is taking humans. From fire to space travel, and how with the creation of artifical life forms, “we are the gods now.”
Pearce himself has stated that his appearance in the new film is limited to “only for a minute.” So is it possible that this viral video release is an extended clip, and Pearce’s only scene in the film?
