Public Enemies clip!

PUBLIC ENEMIES was shot on the same camera that David Fincher used for BENJAMIN BUTTON but for some reason, what didn’t bother me at all with BUTTON is really bothering me on PUBLIC ENEMIES. The first full clip from PUBLIC ENEMIES is online (which you can view below) and while Fincher’s digital was lit and shot to look like film, this just looks digital. I understand that’s what director Michael Mann was going for but it just isn’t working for me.

Meanwhile, once I shake that Discover Channel dramatization look, I really like what’s going on here. What do you think? You can watch the film in HD at Yahoo! or check it out below.
