Pumpkinhead 2: Blood Wings (1994) Revisited – Horror Movie Review

A couple months ago, we looked back at the 1988 film Pumpkinhead with an episode of our Best Horror Movie You Never Saw video series. Now we’re moving on to an examination of the 1994 sequel Pumpkinhead 2: Blood Wings (watch it HERE) – and since this isn’t exactly one of the most popular sequels around, we’re covering it in an episode of our The Black Sheep video series. To find out why we think Pumpkinhead II deserves more appreciation, check out the video embedded above!

Directed by Jeff Burr from a screenplay written by Constantine Chachornia and Ivan Chachornia, Pumpkinhead 2: Blood Wings has the following synopsis: In a small Kansas town in 1958, a group of teenagers torture and kill a disfigured orphan named Tommy. After 35 years, another gang of teens robs the cabin of an old witch. Using some blood and a spell taken from her house, the teens inadvertently resurrect Tommy’s soul in the form of the demon Pumpkinhead. Enraged, Pumpkinhead goes after the teens who summoned him and the men who killed Tommy.

The film stars Andrew Robinson, Ami Dolenz, Soleil Moon Frye, J. Trevor Edmond, Barry Davis, Braddock
Hill Harper, Alexander Polinsky, Michael J. Carra, Linnea Quigley, Steve Kanaly, John Gatins, Gloria Hendry, Lilyan Chauvin, Caren Kaye, Jean-Paul Manoux, Roger Clinton Jr., Joe Unger, R.A. Mihailoff, Kane Hodder, Will Huston, Chuck Aronberg, Nicole Maggio, Mike Johnson, and Robert Harvey, with Mark McCracken as Pumpkinhead.

The Black Sheep series features different takes on horror films that the masses or/and critics didn’t care for but that we found merit in. We defend horror movies that deserve more love!

This episode of The Black Sheep was Written and Narrated by Andrew Hatfield, Edited by Brandon Nally, Produced by Lance Vlcek and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
