R-Rated, live-action Tekken adaptation hitting DVD shelves this Summer?!

I know you guys remember that popular fighting video game TEKKEN, right? Hey it’s no MORTAL KOMBAT but it was still pretty fun. Well what if I was to tell you there’s a badass-looking live-action adaptation of that shite heading our way. Would that be something you might be interested in? Of course it is!

Anchor Bay Films and Manga Entertainment got together one day and decided it’d be cool to unleash a live-action TEKKEN film on the world, so that’s exactly what they’re doing. This thing must’ve been in the works for a while because it’s already been tapped with a release date of July 19th! Looks like we have to work fast!

The year is 2039. World wars have destroyed everything and territories are run by corporations, the mightiest – and cruelest — of which is Tekken. Jin Kazama (John Foo) witnesses the death of his mother Jun (Tomita) by Tekken in the slums known as Anvil. Vowing vengeance, and armed only with his street smarts and raw fighting skills, he enters a dangerous and potentially deadly combat tournament, where he must defeat the world’s most elite fighters to become the “King of the Iron Fist.”

TEKKEN has Dwight H. Little at the helm and stars Jon Foo, Kelly Overton (below), Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Ian Anthony Dale, Darrin DeWitt Henson, former world champion kick boxer Gary Daniels, MMA fighters Cung Le and Roger Huerta, Luke Goss and Tamlyn Tomita. Pretty stacked cast huh?

Now while we’re yet to score a trailer for TEKKEN what we do have are nearly a dozen stills from the flick along with it’s one-sheet. I’ve tossed that shite up above and below so you can scroll away for the goods. TEKKEN hits DVD and Blu-Ray shelves everywhere on July 19th so we should be expecting a trailer very soon.
