cool-sounding, futuristic murder flick based on a
graphic novel from Top Shelf Comix. Its director,
Jonathan (BREAKDOWN) Mostow, and star, all-around
bad-ass Bruce (THE SIXTH SENSE) Willis, are both
extremely lucky because word just got out that they
will now be working with the ravishing Radha Mitchell
(below) of SILENT HILL fame. No word yet on who
she’ll be playing, but the plot for the flick sounds
friggin’ sweet:
The story is set in the near
future, where humans live in isolation and interact
vicariously through surrogate robots who are
better-looking versions of themselves. Willis plays a
cop who is forced to leave his home for the first time
in years in order to investigate the murders of
others’ surrogates.
I like the sound so far. I also like the fact that it
was written by John D. Brancanto and Michael Ferris,
the scribes behind David Fincher’s THE GAME. As for
THE SURROGATES, the Touchstone Pictures project will
begin shooting in the Boston area on April 28 for a
planned release on November 20, 2009.
