Raimi enters Rm 205

In an article about the sudden burst of Hollywood productions filming in Michigan, The Oakland Press talks with Sam Raimi about a horror project he and his Ghost House cohorts will be shooting there: ROOM 205. The flick is a remake of the Danish film of the same name from director Martin Barnewitz. No word if he’s helming this version as well, which will have a screenplay from GRUDGE writer Stephen Susco.

“Room 205 is about a haunted dorm room,” Raimi divulged from Los Angeles, his home and work base since 1985. “It’s a neat screenplay that will become a lovely, bright Midwestern university and tell about how kids become adjusted to their new surroundings. In the midst of that, the supernatural will rear its terrifying head.”

Of course, Raimi grew up in Michigan and shot a little demon possession tale there, so now he’s returning the favor by bringing ROOM 205 (which is budgeted at $8 million) and other projects there – including SPIDER-MAN 4.
