I have yet to ever see an Independent Spirit Awards ceremony, although I hear they’re quite chilled out affair, held inside a tent on the beach in Santa Monica. They’re broadcast on IFC, and if I had remembered that this year, or if I wasn’t out crunking it, then I probably would have watched them. But thankfully, because of the Web 2.0 and the phenomenon that is video streaming, I’m able to catch at least a glimpse of some of the show’s highlights. In this case, there are five mock audition tapes shot by the show’s host Rainn Wilson (THE OFFICE) for the films JUNO (which he was actually in), PARANOID PARK, THE DIVING BELL AND BUTTERFLY, A MIGHTY HEART, and I’M NOT THERE, which were all nominated for Best Feature.
