Rain’s a Ninja Assassin

Ah, the age old battle between Ninjas and Pirates. Whose side are you on? I’ve always been a ninja fan. Maybe it’s because those Turtles, maybe because ninjas have badass weapons, or maybe it’s because the loads of ninja movies that were around when I was a kid. Either way ninjas are badass.

Going hand in hand with ninjas being badass comes the news from Variety that Warner Brothers’ NINJA ASSASSIN has started casting. The first name to join the cast is Jung Ji-hoon (right). Although he’s better known as Rain, a South Korean pop star.

Any movie with the terms NINJA or ASSASSIN in it has to be awesome. Put those two together and I’m giddy with excitement.

Rain will play the lead in the movie, which has Larry and Andy Wachowski with Joel Silver all producing. V FOR VENDETTA director James McTeigue is in line to take the helm on NINJA ASSASSIN. No word on the plot yet.

Filming is scheduled to begin in March and end in July, all in Berlin. We’ll keep you updated on any other NINJA ASSASSIN news.
