Being an X-Box 360 kind of guy, I never really got a chance to dig the GOD OF WAR games. My PS2 fandom was occupied by METAL GEAR SOLID 2, GRAND THEFT AUTO 3/VICE CITY/SAN ANDREAS, and KINGDOM HEARTS 1/2, so I never got the chance to check out GOD OF WAR 1/2.
This I regret because GOD OF WAR actually looks like a pretty badass game. And the sequel looks even better. That shit scored a perfect score(!) from our resident video game god Andre. That alone makes me regret not trying this franchise out even more. Maybe if a PS3 is in my future I can look forward to the upcoming GOD OF WAR 3? (and METAL GEAR SOLID 4 for that matter.)
Enough of my random ramblings, what I’m getting at is the inevitable GOD OF WAR movie. Now I have no idea where it stands in regards to production, but what I do know is that a certain director is eyeing the project.
Our sexual playdate buddies over at JoBlo.com recently scoped out an article over at AdAge. An article that ended with the speculation that one Brett Ratner was looking to bring GOD OF WAR to the big screen. Here’s what was seen:
“He [Ratner] also mentioned that he might be working on a movie adaptation of the video game “God of War.”
I can see how horrible this news is, even having never played the game. Don’t get me wrong… for some reason I’m actually a big fan of the RUSH HOUR films, but even so, Ratner does not belong in the world of video game adaptations, especially GOD OF WAR.
Hopefully we’ll get some news soon nixing this. We’ll keep you posted.
