Stars of yesteryear Christian Slater, Ray Liotta and Ving Rhames have all agreed to star in the thriller THE RIVER SORROW, an indie being directed by Rich Cowan (SHADOW OF FEAR).
The pic centers on a detective, played by Liotta, on the trail of a serial killer. Slater will play an FBI agent overseeing the case while Rhames is Liotta’s friend and captain.
Man, what happened to these three guys? I don’t want to throw this movie under the bus already, but it’s obvious that all three are fully in Cuba Gooding Jr./Val Kilmer territory now. Well, okay, Slater has been there for a while now, churning out a gaggle of direct-to-DVD flicks for years, but Liotta and Rhames can’t get real work? Dudes were in GOODFELLAS and PULP FICTION fer cryin’ out loud! Damn this business. It chews you up and spits you out! Damn it to hell!
Anyhoo, the film begins shooting next week in Washington.
