Re-Animated Updates!

The boys over at Dread Central were cool enough to chat with BEYOND RE-ANIMATOR director and overall RE-ANIMATOR series producer Brian Yuzna about the hold up that is HOUSE OF RE-ANIMATOR today, and he had some interesting things to say regarding where the series is likely headed, and how long the idea has been around to have the latest entry set in the White House.

Basically HOUSE is still trying to land financing, and is still being written, so who knows exactly how long it’ll be before it sees the light of day. Yeah, talk about a bummer. But what’s even more interesting is what Yuzna had to say about the concept of having the RE-ANIMATOR in the White House, as it’s an idea that’s been kicking around for a very long time.

The idea for West in the White House began as the concept for the first sequel, Bride of Re-Animator. It took place during the Reagan years and picked up directly where the first movie left off and include a re-animated Meg.

Nice! Now that would’ve been something to see! While BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR may not have been ‘all that’, it was still a fun romp and had plenty of gore to satisfy the masses. But how cool would it had been to have it set in the White House back then? Pretty frickin’ cool indeed. Although I doubt they would’ve been able to land someone as cool as William H. Macy as the President, or George Wendt as the Vice President back then. Seriously, talk about the best possible presidential casting ever!

Yuzna also had dropped a few tidbits of info. regarding the official RE-ANIMATOR website, as well as a few of the comic book ideas that have been floating around for awhile now.
