[Rec] teaser

There must be something in the water. With all this hype building up for ‘CLOVERFIELD’ (see the latest HERE), there’s now another handheld camera documenting horror flick on the horizon, and it’s looking pretty damn scary!

Think COPS meets BLAIR WITCH, with a bit of DIARY OF THE DEAD for good measure and you have yourself [REC] (as in record). Of course, haven’t seen anything from DIARY yet, but as it deals with zombies… well, watch the trailer below and you’ll know what I’m talkin’ about.

It may all be in Spanish, and I still have no clue what any of the subtitles were telling me, but honestly… I didn’t need it. I was sucked in regardless! [REC] goes a little something like this: While covering the night shift at a small-town fire department, an ambitious young television reporter and her cameraman follow the crew on a call to rescue an elderly woman unable to escape the inferno that is consuming her home. Upon their arrival at the scene, the calm midnight air is pierced by the sound of horrific screams, and the television report takes an unexpectedly dark turn.

Directed by Jaume Balaguero & Paco Plaza, the flick is currently hitting up the film fest circuit, and is making it’s debut at this year’s Sitges Film Festival. The boys over at Dread Central even scored the film’s teaser poster, and holy shite does it work! Simplicity at it’s best.
