Red 2 gets a teaser poster and (maybe) Anthony Hopkins

JoBloJoBlo

Anthony Hopkins is being sought to play a character in next year’s RED 2. The Oscar winning actor would join the already returning Bruce Willis, Mary-Louise Parker, John Malkovich, and Helen Mirren.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Byun-Hun Lee were also announced as new cast-members. If Hopkins joins the movie he is slated to play a genius scientist who was locked up in an insane asylum.

The first RED was a lot of fun. I still love that shot of Bruce Willis standing up from the spinning car and firing his gun. The sequel will be directed by Dean Parisot, director of the cult classic GALAXY QUEST as well as 2005’s not so classic FUN WITH DICK AND JANE.

There is also a teaser poster making the rounds at Cannes. Check it out.

RED 2 is slated to open August 2, 2013.
