A red band trailer for the N.W.A. biopic STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON has been released, and besides giving us a first look at the upcoming film about the rise of the historic rap group, the trailer also features an introduction by Dr. Dre and Ice Cube.There really hasn't been a great hip-hop biographical movie in my opinion (8 MILE was only inspired by Eminem's life before he made it big, and although Jamal Woolard's performance in NOTORIOUS was excellent, I didn't think the film itself was fantastic), but I'm hoping STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON will change all that.
"What's N.W.A. stand for anyway? 'No Whites Allowed', something like that?"
The cast for the F. Gary Gray (FRIDAY, LAW ABIDING CITIZEN) directed film includes Corey Hawkins (NON-STOP) as Dr. Dre, O'Shea Jackson Jr. as Ice Cube, Jason Mitchell (CONTRABAND) as Eazy-E and Paul Giamatti as manager Jerry Heller. Are you interested in visiting COMPTON this summer?
