We last told you about CIRQUE DU FREAK a couple months ago, when Willem Dafoe joined the cast. Well today we’ve got the first still for the flick courtesy of Empire.
Mind you, there was a set photo released a while back of Salma Hayek in a beard, but this is the first official still to come from the film. Just a side note… even in a beard Salma Hayek is gorgeous. Not many women can pull that one off… actually I don’t think any can.

CIRQUE DU FREAK is about a young boy named Darren Shan, who, after attending an illegal freak show with his best friend, decides to become a vampire’s assistant in order to save his best friend’s life. Forced to leave his home and family forever, Darren joins the freak show where he meets a host of bizarre creatures and finds himself at the center of a war between the vampires and a rival clan. It’s based off the series of children’s novels by Darren Shan. It’s directed by Paul Weitz with a script from Oscar winner Brian Helgeland.
Along with Hayek (below), Reilly, and Dafoe, the movie stars Chris Kelly, Ken Watanabe, Chris Massoglia, Josh Hutcherson, Patrick Fugit, Ray Stevenson, Michael Cerveris, Frankie Faison, Jane Krakowski, Orlando Jones, and Kristen Schaal among lots others.
Now I’ve never really heard of the novels before reporting on this movie… so here’s hoping they’re more on the dark side.
