Release date shuffle round two – Now You See Me, Red Dawn, and more!

A whole mess of movies have been given new release dates, so hopefully you weren’t so pumped as to get that shit tattooed or anything.

NOW YOU SEE ME, Louis Leterrier’s heist movie starring Jesse Eisenberg, Morgan Freeman, Woody Harrelson, Michael Caine, Mark Ruffalo, and Isla Fisher has been shifted from January 18th, 2013 to March 15th, 2013.

FLIGHT, Robert Zemeckis’ return to live action starring Denzel Washington, will touch down on November 2nd.

7500, the newest directorial offering from Takashi Shimizu (JU-ON: THE GRUDGE), has been bumped from August 31st, 2012 to TBA 2013.

GAMBIT, not a solo movie for the Cajun Cardslinger but rather a Coen-Brothers-scripted-remake of the 1966 art heist film starring Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine, has been moved back from January 11th, 2013 to October 12th, 2012.

WHITE HOUSE DOWN, Roland Emmerich’s newest version of White House-related destruction, will hit on November 1st, 2013.

PERCY JACKSON: SEA OF MONSTERS will now set sail not on March 27th, 2013 but rather March 15th, 2013, putting it in direct competition with NOW YOU SEE ME.

Finally, the oft-delayed and very possibly ill-advised remake of RED DAWN that stars Chris Hemsworth will at last see release several weeks later than its previously announced November 2nd on November 21st.  I feel that at this point, if this thing has to be released, then they should have just waited until November 2013 and capitalized on the close proximity to THOR 2.  But then again, perhaps the six month break after SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN will be enough for audiences to want to shell out for more Hemsworth the Elder.

And if any of this news brought you any sadness, here’s a look at the beautiful Isla Fisher to hopefully make you feel better.  “Now you see me” indeed.
