I blame Gus Van Sant for the horror remake clusterf*ck that surrounds genre fans right now. I mean, you have a highly respected director come in and remake, shot-for-shot, the most iconic film in genre history. One that was crafted by Hitchcock no less. It became open season. Shame on you Gus.
Now the legacy of cinematic atrocities that he birthed may look to add another victim to its list. At the recent 25th anniversary celebration of the release of FRIDAY THE 13TH, here’s a snippet that was overheard:
“Well, you know, it’s no surprise they’re actually planning another film,” revealed author Bracke. “It’s going to be another team-up film… And then they’re talking about remaking the first movie and starting all over again …
Yes my friends, there is talk of remaking FRIDAY THE 13TH. Look what you’ve done Gus, look what you’ve done!
