Rex Libris for Burton

JoBloJoBlo

Sorry if you thought this was going to be a Tim Burton story, but it’s not, it’s the marginally less famous Mark Burton (MADAGASCAR).

Following the success of the aforementioned Ben Stiller flick, he has been hired by Warner Bros to write the adaptation of Rex Libris, a comic book by James Turner about a head librarian who protects the world’s knowledge and most dangerous secrets from falling into the wrong hands. He achieves this with the aid of his fellow librarians and their hi-tech weapons and an ancient god that lives beneath the library. I haven’t read the comic book but it sounds a little like Indiana Jones except in libraries. I’m not sure how cool that is.

In addition to MADAGASCAR, Burton also wrote CHICKEN RUN and the upcoming THEY CAME FROM UPSTAIRS.
