Reynolds’ Soul Mates

The Hollywood Repoter are dropping word today on an interesting little horror flick. It’s called SOUL MATES and here’s the interesting thing: SOUL MATES is coming from both South Korea and New Zealand. That’s a kicker huh?

Apparently Korea has signed the pack with New Zealand, sealing the deal and will see SOUL MATES coming from New Zealand’s Touchdown Eyeworks and South Korea’s Film Alchemy. It’s pegged to start shooting early next year in January and is looking at a Summer release.

So there’s that, now let’s get to the facts. SOUL MATES comes from director Scott Reynolds with Nick Ward penning the script. It stars Han Chae-young (below) in the lead. Here’s the rundown as to what SOUL MATES is about: A horror film about eternal love and vengeful ghosts. You don’t say? Now that’s pretty vague… and unoriginal… here’s hoping SOUL MATES turns out to be much more than it seems.

Reynolds’ biggest credit would be WHEN STRANGERS APPEAR. Also signing on for SOUL MATES is special effects veteran Richard Taylor’s Weta Workshop to handle visual effects. Now you might recognize Mr. Taylor’s name from those LORD OF THE RING films… I’m hearing they looking petty phenomenal.. so this sounds like awesome news! As always, we’ll keep you updated.
