Remember back in May when we told you BRICK & THE BROTHER’S BLOOM director Rian Johnson was set to helm LOOPER, a futuristic thriller involving time travel? Remember how we told you Bruce Willis had joined BRICK alum Joseph Gordon-Levitt to star in the damn thing? Well, looks like the whole cast and crew are ready to launch early next year!
Word out of Production Weekly has it that Johnson will shoot LOOPER in January of 2011, which not only means the film is a definite go…but that its chance at running through a prestigious festival circuit will be fairly high. Good for them!
LOOPER is a science fiction thriller is set during a future in which time travel has been invented, with operatives (loopers) sent back to the present to assassinate criminals. Gordon-Levitt will play a man sent back to kill himself.
No word on additional casting yet, but with announcement, we should starting getting some LOOPER dope in the mail soon enough.
