The Texas-set story, according to Variety, “concerns a mentally unstable Iraq war veteran, who forges a strange friendship with his boss, a wealthy and politically ambitious owner of a supermarket chain.” Kelly through his Darko Entertainment banner will produce the more traditionally narrative film along with former Basterd and fellow filmmaker Eli Roth, who’s known Kelly since the CABIN FEVER days.
Casting is reportedly under way right now, with announcements expected before the end of March. Production is expected to begin on location sometime in July.
