Rick and Morty to return thanks to an unprecedented 70-episode renewal!

After enduring a harsh silence as to the fate of the show RICK AND MORTY, Adult Swim has announced that fans of the twisted animation program can look forward to a whopping 70-episode renewal of Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon's crude science-driven series. Hailed as a "longterm deal," the channel has yet to divulge the details concerning the release window for the massive episode order, though this won't be the first time that RICK AND MORTY enthusiasts were made to wait for more adventures featuring two of animation's zaniest characters. For real, if the release for these episodes is anything like the show's previous schedule, we could be looking at a decade's-worth of RICK AND MORTY. Damn, that's a lot of Szechuan Sauce, and undoubtedly plenty of bellyaching, should the creative team take their sweet time to deliver the goods.

No matter how you feel about RICK AND MORTY, there's no denying that the show is an entertainment juggernaut. In 2017, the animated series was TV's number one comedy, cable or broadcast, burying shows like THE BIG BANG THEORY, MODERN FAMILY, and SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, among millennial viewership.

As a way to mark the 70-episode renewal announcement, Adult Swim is preparing to launch a multi-city pop-up event, featuring a Rickmobile, as a way of thanking the program's impassioned fanbase. According to the studio, the Rickmobile will make its first stop in Atlanta before heading to San Diego Comic Con in July.
