I'm almost entirely certain that Ridley Scott can't physically function unless he has a dozen films in development at once. The man loves to work. According to The Wrap, the prolific director may be adding yet another project to his slate as he's in talks to direct an adaptation of Greg Rucka's award-winning graphic novel "Queen & Country".
The graphic novel centers around Tara Chace, a top operative in the Special Section of Britain's Ministry of Intelligence who is one of a handful of operatives they call when they need to clean up a mess, or to make a new one. 20th Century Fox has been attempting to get "Queen & Country" off the ground for a number of years, and at one point they even had Ellen Page attached to star in the film. Running for 32 issues from 2001-2007 at Oni Press, Greg Rucka's "Queen & Country" was illustrated by a variety of artists, including Bryan Lee O'Malley, Steve Rolston, and Chris Samnee, and won an Eisner Award for Best New Series in 2002.
In addition to "Queen & Country," Ridley Scott is also slated to direct THE MERLIN SAGA for Disney based upon the novels by T.A. Barron. The novels follow the "adventures and training of young Merlin on the mist-shrouded isle of Fincayra, an enchanted land between earth and sky that is being destroyed by blight. With this land's inhabitants to guide him, the boy will learn that Fincayra's fate and his own quest are strangely intertwined." There's also an adaptation of Don Winslow's "The Cartel" as well as a potential sequel to ALIEN: COVENANT. Like I said, the man loves to work.
