Ridley Scott still working on Alien 5

Disney recently bought up 20th Century Fox and all its projects leaving such horror hits as the ALIEN franchise, the PREDATOR series, and David Cronenberg's THE FLY now in the hands of the House of Mouse. So is Ridley Scott's planned ALIEN 5 aka ALIEN: COVENANT 2 aka PROMETHEUS 3 still headed our way? Looks like it as a recent Deadline article says:

Ridley Scott's Scott Free seems also a good bet to stay [following the 20th Century Fox and Disney merger] beyond the next Aliens installment that he's working on…

I for one hope that this is true and Disney allows Scott to keep working on another ALIEN movie. If for no other reason than Scott's last ALIEN film cannot be ALIEN: COVENANT. Please, allow him the chance to wipe that movie from our collective memory, Disney.

ALIEN: COVENANT synopsis:

Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, members (Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup) of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think to be an uncharted paradise. While there, they meet David (Michael Fassbender), the synthetic survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. The mysterious world soon turns dark and dangerous when a hostile alien life-form forces the crew into a deadly fight for survival.

Scott directed ALIEN: COVENANT from a screenplay written by John Logan and Dante Harper based on a story by Jack Paglen and Michael Green based on characters created by Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett. It starred Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Amy Seimetz, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, Benjamin Rigby, Uli Latukefu, Tess Haubrich, and Danny McBride. On top of directing Covenant, Scott also produced the film alongside David Giler, Walter Hill, Mark Huffam, and Michael Schaefer.

ALIEN COVENANT is now available on Blu-ray HERE.
